Danae De Guelle’s journey from necrotizing MRSA survivor to founder of the Surgery Optimization Protocol™ is proof that

Healing is Possible.

The Day that Everything Changed

In 2020, my life changed overnight.

What started as a hernia surgery spiraled into necrotizing MRSA — a flesh-eating bacterial infection that nearly took everything from me.

I went from being independent and strong to living in hospital gowns, hooked to IVs, and counting each day as a battle.

For almost a year, I was in and out of hospitals.

Surgeons cut into me more times than I can count.

Antibiotics poured into my veins but offered little relief.

My body was riddled with pain, my spirit exhausted, and my hope almost gone.

Doctors told me there wasn’t much more they could do.

I remember lying on the wound care table, staring at the ceiling, and realizing I had two choices:

  • surrender to the infection,
  • or fight for my life in a different way.

That’s when I walked away from the path I had been on and turned toward integrative medicine. It wasn’t an easy choice. It was a desperate one. But that desperation gave me hope and strength.

I discovered therapies and protocols that supported my body rather than broke it down.

I rebuilt my immune system, nourished my gut, healed deficiencies, and used tools that gave my body what it needed to fight back.

In only two months, my body did what almost a year of traditional medicine could not.

I was healed — truly healed.

The scars I carry today are not just on my body, but on my heart and soul.

They remind me of the nights I prayed for strength, the nurses who became like family, the times I laughed through pain just to stay sane, and the day I finally knew I would live.

This journey didn’t just save my life. It gave me a mission. I knew no one should ever have to walk into surgery unprepared or uninformed. That’s why I created the Surgery Optimization Protocol (SOP)™ — a roadmap for patients to reduce risks, recover stronger, and regain peace of mind before and after surgery.

That’s why I created my Surgery Optimization Protocol™.

It’s born out of survival, from living proof.

I share this not because it’s easy, but because it’s necessary.

  • To show that healing is possible, even when it feels out of reach.
  • To remind you that preparation matters.
  • To give you hope in your darkest hours.

👉 And if you’ve found yourself facing surgery, infection, or uncertainty, know this: you are not alone, and there is a path forward.
